Athenian Bathing Room
Designed in collaboration with Kan Atelier, this bathing room reinterprets the ancient bathhouse within the context of the contemporary Athenian apartment. Mary researched historic bathing practices across the Mediterranean and designed a space that integrated local materials, architectural cues, and ritual frameworks. Conceived as a full-body reset for urban living, the space encourages slowness, ritual, and ease. A discreetly integrated laundry chute enables garments to be set aside upon entry—merging symbolic and functional transitions. The result is a private sanctuary where architectural form meets emotional resonance, and bathing is elevated to an intentional, immersive experience.
